System administrator for Helix cybersecurity intelligence center

Job description:

Responsible for working in a 24×7 IT Security Operation Center (SOC) environment, the System Administrator ensures that our platforms are fully operational. Sysadmin supports the SOC activities by deploying operating systems, tools, and perform preventive maintenance in order to avoid any unavailability on our core systems. Job duties include:

  • Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues
  • Manage the configuration and operation of our own servers platform
  • Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution
  • Manage, deploy and configure hardware upgrades, software updates, security patches, and other necessary items on an as-needed basis
  • Maintaining internal documentation through a wiki
  • Participate in required compliance activities as needed, including data log collection, statistical analysis, and proper reporting standards.
  • Review application logs and be proactive
  • Other duties as assigned by Team Leads and/or Operations Manager

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/Degree/Bachelor in computer science or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in system administration
  • Excellent oral and written communications both in English and French
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with peers as needed
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • A first experience with VMware solutions is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge on Microsoft and Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge in scripting is a plus
  • Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
  • Must be able to show a certificate of character provided by Mauritius authorities
  • Must be capable of passing a basic background investigation
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously is required.
  • IT/Customer service experience in a helpdesk environment with strict SLA requirements
  • Experience in a ticketing and monitoring systems
  • Experience working with ITSM /Smart IT ticketing systems
  • Capable of meeting and exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as required per customer requirements
  • Flexibility agility to support a 24-hour a day/365 days/year operation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Network + Certification or equivalent
  • Microsoft OS and Linux OS certification
  • Experience with data center operations
  • Experience with cloud operations
  • Others IT security qualifications by any recognized bodies
